MISCELLANEOUS RULES

• MAIN VERSE.
  
  The main verse of this blog follows current 616 canon. That means it is up to date with the comics, including the conclusion of Uncanny X-Men vol. 4 and will soon be picking up with the new run of Extraordinary X-Men. This follows everything in her history, dossier and whatever you might find on a wiki page or comic vine ( wherever you might go looking to read up more on the aggressive butterfly ).
  
  As of June 2018, this means the blog will include the Astonishing X-Men run involving the Shadow King but it does not yet include the Hunt for Wolverine, for example. I'll incorporate that as it is published but since we don't know what it holds for Betsy, I'm not going to try and play ahead.
  
  
  
• AVENGERS INTERNATIONAL.
  
  Peter Parker wanted to form a new team that truly looked out for the betterment of the world rather than any one group. He called upon humans, mutants, avengers and inhumans and tried to create a group with names and faces that the masses would recognize in the hopes they could leave the world a better place. Despite the past hardships with the Avengers, Psylocke joins as she has felt alienated from the X-MEN and suffered one loss and hardship too many with them.
  
  Following an encounter with the Phoenix Force, the team underwent some changes and Peter Parker stepped down, following troubles with his company. The team operates on a smaller scale at this point, often with some rotating rosters but Clint and Betsy maintain active at the heart of it.

• CAPTAIN BRITAIN.
  
  Following the Incursions, the Mapmakers attacked and decimated the Captain Britain Corps. Brian Braddock, the King of the Otherworld and acting Captain Britain for Earth 616, came back but his attentions were called off world. While the Corps had been destroyed, he wished to do what he could to rebuild and replace them but that left his homeworld unattended. Merlyn reached out to Elizabeth, offering her the mantle of Captain Britain once again since she had stood in for her brother once upon a time. She accepted and has kept news of the Corps and evens offworld fairly quiet, but has been thriving in the time away from the X-MEN.

  PSIONIC SUPERMODEL.
  
  this verse is set with a much younger betsy braddock. she’s in her early 20s, fresh out of university and considered one of the ultimate supermodels. she’s the model companies want as their spokesmodel and want on their runways. this is before her time as Captain Britain ( the first time ) and before she was any kind of superhero.
  
  Betsy Braddock is considered THE face. She’s the model in high demand on runways around the world and a hot commodity at fashion weeks. She graces the covers of international magazines, has spots in commercials and regularly walks red carpet events. What isn’t known is that she’s a mutant.
  
  Following a harrowing series of events at the family manor, the result was the catalyst needed to spur her powers into existence. For now, they are used for her own selfish and petty gains but they are becoming more and more useful especially when it comes to navigating the world around her. What better way to deal with catty models than to know what they’re really thinking?
  
  Outside of burgeoning powers and a jet-setting lifestyle, Betsy thrives on adrenaline. Her latest accomplishment is becoming a pilot, often flying her own private jet with the charter pilot sitting as her copilot.

POWERS & ABILITIES

• TELEPATHY: The short-form definition is simple: the psi ability to send or receive thoughts directly into or from other minds. Even shorter, she can read minds and project her thoughts. Her range can vary, however. If it is a mind she is familiar with, she can communicate with them over a larger distance compared to finding a strange mind in a crowded area. She is capable of pinpointing one ‘voice’ in a crowded place and has been known to act as a relay point for others (she never worries about not having her cellphone).
• MIND CONTROL: It is not an absence of free will but rather a strong form of suggestion. Cohersion through nigh subliminal methods. Betsy uses this to make it feel as if the decision is a natural and organic one since a forced control can often result in the subject of her efforts rejecting them or resisting. She is also able to manipulate and even erase the memories of others. She prefers a more subtle approach but it also touches on a moral subject for her to strip away free will from another.
• MENTAL PROJECTION: She can receive and broadcast thoughts to others, often acting as a link for her team. It also serves beneficial when it comes to missions, allowing her to “scout” out threats or targets from a safe distance. This power has a substantial range and even more so with those she has a bond or established familiarity with.
• GENERATING ILLUSIONS: Off-set from mental projections, she can generate illusions. This can be from something as minute as an illusion about “is this your card” or making someone think they saw someone they knew or to something as extreme as creating an entire illusion of being somewhere they’re not.
• AUGMENT SENSES/ABILITIES: Betsy can disengage the cognitive senses of others such as their hearing, sight, or even their pain receptors.
• MENTAL BOLTS/PSYCHIC KNIFE: Betsy can concentrate her psionic energy into localized points that can be “aimed” and “released” within another’s mind. This is used to stun or potentially kill them as it overloads and can damage the synapses and neurons in the brain. In terms of her psychic knife, she localizes the energy in her hands and can project a “blade” of this energy from her fists. These, too, are used to stun or potentially kill an opponent. It should be noted that her psionic energy always registers in a fuchsia hue.
• TELEKINESIS: The psi ability to move or manipulate physical matter without touching it, especially over long distances. In Betsy’s case, she has more of the brute strength aspect covered rather than the finer finesse.
• TELEKINETIC KATANA (OR OTHER WEAPON FORM): A much more powerful form of the psychic knife. The katana can short-circuit the nervous system, much like the psychic knife, but it can also cut through nearly any form of inanimate material. In a combat situation, she could use it to attack a person in armor and only cut the armor while stunning the person inside. In addition to the katana, she can create tangible weapons and objects that allow her to use them but other people as well.
• TELEKINETIC SHIELD/BARRIER: She can create a physical manifestation of her telekinetic energy, much like the katana, but in the form of a wall or a shield to protect herself (or others) from attacks.
• TELEKINETIC AIDED SUPER STRENGTH: In dire situations, Betsy is able to direct her telekinesis through her fists (or whichever appendage is serving the blow) to strike as though she had superhuman strength.
• IMMUNE TO MANIPULATION: After her death, her brother Jamie resurrected her. Jamie has the ability to manipulate the “strings” of reality and in his actions, he “tied up loose strings” surrounding her. He altered her mind so that she was impenetrable and immune to all forms of manipulation; mental, electronic detection and reality manipulation.
